Guided Fly Fishing Trips

What To Expect

All guided trips are walk and wade, and drift boat float trips, with the emphasis on education in fly fishing and conservation. We will practice catch and release on all trips. I respect the sport of fly fishing and wish to give all others the opportunity to experience the quality and satisfaction I strive to give each of my guests.

Your guided trip includes all amenities. Full day trips include a stream-side lunch, snacks and beverages for the day. Rods, reels, flies, tippet, and any other equipment or essentials needed for the day's trip are also provided. Please don’t hesitate to bring along your favorite rod/reel or flies. If you have any special dietary needs, allergies and/or medical conditions please email or call me with that information in advance. Half day trips will include everything but a stream-side lunch.

Note: Guests will need to provide their own waders and boots, fishing licenses, and fishing reports cards. Rentals and licenses can be purchased through Kiene’s Fly Shop located in Sacramento, CA.

Pricing

Current prices are for a full day (minimum 8 hours) and half day (minimum 4 hours) of fishing for up to two people.

All clients must have a valid CA Fishing License, as well as a CA Steelhead Report Card if applicable. Please provide proof at the beginning of the day, so we can properly fill it out together.

Drift Boat Float Trips will be on the following rivers:
American River, Feather River, Lower Yuba River and Lower Sacramento River.

Premium Walk & Wade Trips will be on the following rivers:
Putah Creek and Lower Yuba River

Full Day Float Trips - $650
Shuttle Included

Half Day Float Trips - $525
Shuttle Included

Full Day Walk & Wade - $600

Half Day Walk & Wade - $500

Gratuity is not included, but are customary and always very much appreciated. Some folks are unsure what is common and that’s fine. Gratuity is commonly 15-20% of your trips total. Not expected at all, but if you feel you’ve learned something valuable, had a great time and wish to tip, they’re highly appreciated.

Payments and Deposits

Payment in full is required to reserve your date(s). Payment can be paid via check, cash and direct deposit to bank account via email address (preferred methods of payment). Credit card, PayPal and apps such as Cash App and Venmo are also available. Your payment will confirm your reservation for your trip(s). Payment is to be made within 1 week of booking your trip, no exceptions.

Refunds / Cancellations

A full refund of your payment will be granted if you cancel thirty (30) days before the date of your trip. Inside of thirty (30) days we will refund your payment only if you get a replacement angler or if we have a backup angler. Exceptions can be made if unusual circumstances arise. If the weather or water conditions are dangerous and/or un-fishable, I will reschedule. For unusual circumstances that may arise, we will postpone the trip, and reschedule to a future date. 

If payment was made by credit card or PayPal, the amount refunded will be in full minus the original transaction fee.

Occupancy

Though it is typical to have two anglers per guide, exceptions can be made depending on the experience of the anglers and the type of trip.

Pricing is as follow for 3rd angler:
$150 - Full day
$100 - Half day

Corporate and group guided trips are also available. Whether its a business trip, family gathering, or a group of friends wanting to get out on the water, we can find the perfect trip for you.
